A remarkable trip for the Honeymoon couples with all the best part of Nepal included. This trips is a combination of good five days of country walk in the close vicinity of the rural mid hills country life with impressive views of Mt.Annapurna, Manaslu including the majestic peak of Machhapuchare also known as Fish Tail. The walk passes through a more diverse range of climate, vegetation and cultures. From lush vegetation of rain and temperate forests to the terraced rice fields. The land and its people changes as per the elevation gain giving the trekkers a tantalising introduction to Nepal's cultural and natural beauty.

Small thatched roofed villages, set among the terraced fields, make an attractive scenery with the backdrop of the magnificent snowy range of Annapurna, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri including the most majestic peaks of all the Himalayan range the Machapuchere (Fish Tail)

The walk is not overly difficult as we have set this trip very flexible so one can enjoy the surrounding beauty in their own walking pace and rhythm, the walk leads above Deurali at 2,210 meter pass-and you will be passing through plenty of villages along the way. The trail begins from the outskirt of Pokhara Valley rim and the first portion passes through lush green hill country typical of the heartland of Nepal. This wonderful trip concludes with a day rafting on the warm waters of Trisuli River with an overnight at a nice Resort by the river and the journey continues on the low land of Terai for the Jungle Safari on elephant backs with other interesting Jungle activities in the comfort of a nice cosy Jungle Lodge.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu.1,300m.

Day 03: Fly to Pokhara 820m. and transfer to Hotel.
Day 04: From Pokhara drive to Nayapul and trek to Bhirethati 1,200m.
Day 05: Trek to Ghandrung / Ghandruk. 1,940m. 3-4 hrs walk.
Day 06: Trek to Landrung / Landruk. 1,640m. 2-3 hrs walks.
Day 07: Trek to Dhampus. 1,740m. 4-5 hrs walk.

Essential Information

Pokhara Valley

Pokhara is one of the most unique sub-tropical valley in the Himalaya and probably in the world, where one can marvel the beauty of the Himalayan landscape and reflection of the Annapurna massif including the towering majestic peak of Mt. Machhapuchare on its beautiful lakes..

Pokhara is situated in the mid western Nepal. It is linked by the main highway of 200 km driving distance from Kathmandu, and by air approximately 20 to 30 minutes flight with a sweeping panoramic view of the mid western Himalaya. Mother nature has certainly blessed this fertile valley with outstanding scenary of the landscapes, snow capped mountains, moderate tropical climate, and beautiful pristine lakes of Begans, Rupa and Phewa.

The most stunning of Pokhara's sights is the magnificient panorama of the Annapurna range which forms its backdrop. Annpaurna massif includes Annapurna I to IV and Annapurna South.Among these high peaks it is the towering majestic Mt. Machhapuchahre (Fish Tail) which dominates all others in this range

Pokhara with its natural beauty is also a starting point of Nepal's most popular adventure destinations. Most of the trekking, mountaineering expeditions begins from this remarkable place and it's a also an ideal spot for all types of holiday makers.

The Trisuli is Nepal's most popular rafting river for many reasons:
Big,bouncy waves, hefty holes and tricky chutes all make for an exhilarating ride. Our rafting adventure floats through numerous rapids from Grade I, II to IV depending upon upon its water level at the time of the season.

This river flows from Mt.Ganesh and Langtang all the way to Chitwan National Park and finally ends at Ganges in the Gangetic plains of India. Trisuli is quite popular river for rafting, as the river flows by the side of the main highway,and it has all the thrills,excitement plus a scenic view of the landscape,flora and fauna.

Rafting in this river, is an ultimate way of reaching the jungle with a surge of adrenaline and a scenic float. After an early breakfast from the Hotel our transport will accompany you all the way to Chauradhi on the main busy highway, the scenic drive will take not less than three hours. On arriving Chauradhi, a small village in the middle of the highway, our river guides and Captain of the raft will receive you, a short walk to the beach where you can see our boys preparing and inflating the raft for the exciting journey on the Truisuli river.

You will be throughly briefed by our Captain about the Rafting, safety procedure and the river. Lunch is prepared here by the bank of the Trisuli river,(if its too early sometime we prepare lunch farther downstream) lunch will be prepared and served on the large plastic tarpaulin. Once in the Raft, your valuable, money purse, camera and sunscreen is put in the safe water-proof tight plastic barrel, what you need for the Rafting for the day will go in this container. As the going gets ready, our Captain will divide the group in the boat in seating order to balance the raft. Once in the Raft you'll have helmets, life-jacket and paddle each. As the seating order is settled the Captain seats will be on the back with its oar or steering paddle.

Once in the river, you will have a brief instruction on paddling, the float down stream takes you through many intersting and exciting rapids, like Twin-Rock, Ladies Delight, Monsoon and the most heart pounding rapids of all is "Upset"(an infamous class IV rapid with a huge curly waves) after Upset it passes through "Surprise" and before the end of the trip Bijili rapid will give you a big wash, then back to the bank of the river at Kuringhat, overnight camp after an exciting, thrilling whitewater rafting.

NOTE: Light shoes, runners, joggers or good sandals should be worn during rafting. If you are wearing a glass or a sunglass make sure it has string attached to avoid loss.

Please follow the Captain instruction where necessary. In the camp, keep your valuable and belonging safe. Keep the campsite and the beach clean if the staff has forgotten, please remind them.

Chitwan National Park

Area 932 sq.kms.

One of the oldest and most popular National Parks in Nepal, is situated within the inner subtropical Terai lowlands of Southern-Central Nepal. The park was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1984.

The Park covers a pristine area with a unique eco-system of significant value to the world. It contains the Churiya hills, ox-bow lakes and flood plains of the rivers Rapti, Reu and Narayani. Approximately 70 % of the park vegetation is covered by Sal forests. The remaining vegetation types include 20 % of grassland, 7 % of riverine forest and 3% of Sal with chirpine. The latter are found in the Churia (Siwalik) range. Which are the low hills after the Terai flatlands. The riverine forests mainly consist of khair, sisso and simal or kapok (the silk cotton tree).

The grasslands are a diverse and complex community with over 50 species. The Saccharun species, popularly known as elephant grass, can reach 8m in height. The locals for thatch roofs use the shorter grasses such as Imperata.

There are more than 43 species of mammals in the park. The Park is famous for the endangered and elusive " Bengal Tiger" . The park is home to the one horned Indian Rhinoceros, fresh water ghariel crocodile along with many other common species such as gaur (asian bison) wild elephants, four horned antelopes, striped hyenas, pangolins, Gangetic dolphins,monitor lizards and pythons.

Other animals found in the park include sambars, chital (spotted deer) barking deer, sloth bear, palm civets, langurs and rhesus monkeys. The park is also famous for over 450 species of birds. Among the endangered birds are the Bengal florican, the Giant Hornbill, the Lesser Forican, the Black Stork and White Stork.

Common birds seen in the park including Peafowl, Red Jungle fowl, and different species of Egrets, Herons, Kingfishers, Flycatchers and Woodpeckers. The best time for bird watching is around March and December.

More than 45 species of amphibians and reptiles have been recorded in the park, some of which are the Marsh mugger Crocodile, cobras Green Pit Viper and various species of frogs and tortoises. The Chitwan National Park is also an educational field for botanists and zoologists alike. The park is actively engaged in Scientific studies and research concerning several species of wild fauna and flora.

The Chitwan National Park has many lodges and tented camps inside and outside as well. The park can be reached via a 190-km road, a drive of approximately 5-6 hours and by Air about a 20-minute flight to Megauli or to Bharatpur including a short ride by elephant or by a four wheel drive. It may also be reached by the ultimate way with a surge of adrenaline and scenic floats Rafting on the Trisuli River .

Detail Itinerary

On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport you will be received by our staff and escort you to the Hotel, where one of our staff will give you a brief orientation of the Hotel, Kathmandu, regarding the trips, do's and don't and other related information that you might require while in Nepal.

After your first night in Kathmandu, you will be well informed on arrival about the time for your half day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest. Depending upon your flight arrival if it's late in the night we will do this tour in the afternoon instead of morning to give you a nice rest before you venture out of the Hotel.

As per the flight schedule for Pokhara, our staff will transfer you to the domestic airport for a short half hour scenic flight to Pokhara. On arrival at Pokhara our trekking staff will receive you and escort you to respective Hotel. Please find at the end regarding information on Pokhara and its beautiful setting.

From Pokhara an hour scenic drive brings you at Nayapul on the Pokhara-Baglung Highway. Here our trekking staffs and porters will get organized sorting out the baggage, walk begins with an easy path following the Modi River upstream reaching towards the beautiful Bhirethati village, after a break here walk for another 40 minutes to the Resort for the overnight stop. This region is inhabited by the local Gurung tribe who are famed for their valor as Gurkha soldiers both in the Indian and British Army.

After a pleasant time here, walk follows the gentle gradual path till a small village Syali Bhatti is reached after less than an hour walk. From here take your time as the trail climbs most of the way towards Ghandrung village. As the walk progress on the winding stone path passing through small farm villages and terraced farm fields with an hour stop for lunch at near Kimche village, overlooking grand views of the surrounding landscapes and snow capped peaks of Glacier dome, Annapurna South, Huinchuli and upper portion of Mt.Machhapuchare. After a break here, the walk gets better on the gradual uphill path most of the way to Ghandrung. On reaching Ghandrung after a good interesting walk, visit the local village and the Gurung museum.

Along with the wonderful view of the Annapurna South and Huinchuli peak, walk continues on the downhill slope, passing through small farm villages and a patch of forest, with the last short steep downhill on the cool stone steps till Phedi is reached. Located by the raging Modi River that sweeps down from Annapurna glacier, on the other side of the river high on the cliff, you can observe the wild honey comb.

After a brief break here cross the bridge and a slow up hill climb for an hour reaches you at the nice Landrung village for the overnight stop, with time for a short walk around the village, great close up view of Annapurna South and Huinchuli peak can be seen from this village and beyond.

From Landrung, morning walk leads on the gradual winding path through the farm terraces, then reaching to a open area at Tokla with great views of the Annapurna south and Huinchuli peaks, after a break here walk continue towards the last uphill ridge at Deurali, highest spot of this trip. The climb takes less than an hour in the cool shade of the forest, on reaching the top of the hill of Deurali enjoy the grand scenery from the Pokhara valley below, towards the high snow capped mountain range and the rolling hills. Probably a good spot for lunch depending upon time, as this place has 2-3 small lodges. After a great moment here, it is all down hill walk through the cool forest till Pothana village is reached, a beautiful spot for the panoramic views of the Annapurna, Manaslu range including the majestic views of Mt.Machhapuchare.

An hour down hill on the quiet trail from here leads you to the overnight spot at Dhampus. Dhampus a Gurung village perched on the slope of the mid hill ridge. Dhampus offers one of the classic panoramas from Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu to Lamjung range of mountains with Mt.Machhapuchare dominating over.

With the last stop on the mid high hills, today's walk is more or less downhill. After breakfast, walk follows the stone steps downhill all the way to Phedi at the bottom. On reaching the road head at Phedi, a short drive brings you to the Phewa lake side at Pokhara for the overnight stop before the next thrill and adventure.

Morning scenic drive of three hours from Pokhara to the Rafting put in point at Trisuli River. On reaching the put in point meet our Rafting crew, after a briefing on safety procedure and instruction float down for approx. 18-20 km downstream to Kuringhat or near about. Before the float a picnic lunch by the Trisuli River. After a great moment on the river, the scenic float ends at Kuring tar, where there is a nice resort for the overnight stay.

A nice pleasant drive of few hours takes to the low land (Terai) . On reaching at the suburb of Chitwan National Park. Transfer on another vehicle, a four wheel drive which will take you inside the Park and into the Chitwan Jungle Lodge, on arrival the camp manager will give you the necessary information about the Park and its Lodge and as well do's and don't. Out in the Jungle its better to wear dull or dark clothes, avoid bright color clothing like red-yellow-orange-white and perfumes. Hat-walking shoes or boots-trouser is necessary when out in the excursion at the Jungle.

Afternoon activities as per the Lodge set programmed for different groups. Afternoon program generally elephant briefing & bathing (depending upon the depth and size of the river at different seasons)

Early, in the morning a knock at the door (wake up call) for your early Jungle activities. The morning jungle program will be according to group wise either Bird watch tour, Elephant Safari or a Jungle walk.

After the morning program of 1 to 2 hours back to the lodge for breakfast in the main dining hut, the tables are allocated according to different groups and guest wise. A few hours of leisure before the next program as above in Day10 till evening time.

Elephant Safari, Jungle walk includes visit to the tower (Machan) visit and Jungle drives. After the afternoon jungle activities of 2-3 hours, refreshing hours at leisure, evening program slide show on Chitwan National Park and it's history, flora and wildlife. Cultural Tharu Stick Dance. Usually dinner is served at 8 pm. The dinner will be buffet of Nepali dishes or Chinese-Indian dishes.

Early morning wake up call with a knock at the door for different activities. After breakfast, prepare to leave the lodge for the short drive to Bharatpur for 20 minutes flight back to Kathmandu. Approx. 190 km.

Day 13: In Kathmandu. O/N Hotel.
A free day in Kathmandu, please inform our staff or the office if you would like to go on another short tour in and around Kathmandu Valley or for scenic mountain flight

Today as per your international flight time, keep your confirmed air ticket, departure tax (in local currency) and your passport handy. Our Staff will take you to the airport for your final departure from this amazing country, Nepal.
