Whenever people talk about Nepal they think about the Himalayas and white snow peaks. Nepal has become synonymous with Himalayas in the world. Those people living out of Nepal often think about Everest and they ask Nepali people if they have summated Mt. Everest.
The beautiful adventures country Nepal is not home of Everest and Lord Buddha. It’s also home Eight of the Ten highest peak in the world which are above then 8 thousand meters. Climbers across the globe makes plan each year to summit to fulfill their desire. To climb the Himalayas of the country is not easy and people often died while climbing however climbing lovers never stops to summit it. Here are the lists of eight highest peak of the country above than 8000 meters.
Located north east on the side of Tibet border towering on elevation of 8,848 meters was first climbed on May 29, 1953 by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. Most popular peak in the world Everest is highest mountain in the world too. The Mountain is shared between Nepal and China. Two different trails have been made to climb either from Nepal side and Tibet side. However from Nepal side is more popular.
Third highest peak in the world Kanchenjunga located in eastern part of Nepal on elevation of 8,586 meter tall in Taplejung District. In 1955 may 25 it was first climbed. People do trek from India side to see this Nepal’s third highest peak.
The fourth highest peak in the world Lhotse located on the side of Everest which is part of Mahalangur Himalayan range. It has elevation of 8,531 meter tall and pretty difficult to climb compared to other peaks in the country. Located on Solukhumbu region of Nepal Lhotse and Everest Can be climbed at same time as these two are relatively close each other.
Fifth tallest peak in the world Makalu stands tall at 8,463 meters. However Makalu is not popular for climb and trek. Some people still go Makalu Base Camp trek and Makalu summit. The thrill adventure seekers prefer other peaks and other trail compared to Makalu.
The sixth highest mountain on earth is 8,210 meter high and located in Solukhumbu district. Located in Gokyo valley side Choyu is popular mountain for climbing. It was climbed on 1954 October.
Dhaulagiri is most popular peak for climbing and trekking around the world. Situated between Mustang and Manang district of Nepal trekkers around Annapurna region get see from anywhere. Dhaulagiri round is most popular organized trek in country.
Located in Gorkha District of Nepal Manaslu trek being best and popular trek these days. Standing on the elevation of 8,163 meters Manaslu Expedition is quite dangerous peak however each year dozens of adventure seekers make their plan to summit it. It was climbed on May 1, 1956.
However its 10th tallest mountain in the world Annapurna peak is world known peak among others after Everest. Annapurna region offers various trekking trails too. Its standing on elevation of 8,091 meter above the sea level.
