Domestic and Indian Tourists Up in Lumbini

However the third country’s visitors are not so encouraging to Lumbini, The birth place of lord Bouddha, The Indians and domestic tourists have been visiting in the sites more since 2011.
According to the Lumbini Development fund data, the numbers of domestic tourists grew from 395,570 in 2011 to 539,210 in 2011. Data further shows that the number of domestic tourists to Lumbini in 2013 was 573,529. Similarly, 63,709 Indians visitors travelled the Buddhist Pilgrimage site in 2011. While the number went up to 120,583 in 012, grew to 150,252 in 2013.
According to Gita Giri who is tourism expert, “The Numbers of domestic and Indian tourists has increased each year to come.” This is good, but we should also do the needful to attract tourists from third nations.”
Lumbini development Fund spokesperson Ajitman Tamang conceded that the fall of the third country tourists showed the need further publicity campaigns.
